I thought they were ugly and unpleasant, but that is clearly an adult view point - or maybe just mine. It has a hard plastic head and a soft body. My daughter loved it instantly and has kept it together and used it often. She finds it very cute and is more careful of it than many of her other toys It comes iwth a box of tissues (in reality a couple of bits of cloth in plastic - you can't get them out really, a thermometer, a spoon for medicine and a stethoscope. She looks after her baby which has various speeches to make depending what you touch - so if the bandaid is removed and put back on it says "I have a boo boo" - the heart beat sounds when you touch the chest, and so on. I find it cloying but my 6 year old loves it. I hope your little girl loves it too!
