Since the child has not yet been born, I don't know how it will be as a toy but it sure is perfect as a room decoration. The giraffe is so real looking and very cute and soft. It seems to be very sturdy and stands on it's own very well. The parents to be are thrilled with it-they had gone to Africa and climbed Mt. Kilamanjaro on their honeymoon so they were thrilled to make their nursery a jungle/safari theme and the giraffe is just what was needed.
