Owner Reviews, Ratings, Comments and Criticism Continuing the tradition of bringing every possible franchise to the Monopoly board, Nintendo has now hopped on board to satisfy fanboys everywhere. It's hard to really give any game of Monopoly a bad review because its the same fun game everytime. This Nintendo version does a decent job of bringing video game characters into the mix but I agree with much of what Amazon User: Nugget had to say about the game too. Namely, PLACES whould have been utilized more for spaces instead of characters. It doesn't make much sense to have a monopoly with properties Samus, Ridley, and Metroid. It would, however, make sense to have a monopoly on properties Mushroom Kingdom, Crateria, and Hyrule Castle. It would have been a better conversion this way. It was nice to see vehicles such as the F-Zero Blue Falcon, Starfox Arwing, and Mario Kart used in place of the railroads though! My last complaint, although somewhat minor, was that many of the chance and community chest cards (now marked with question mark blocks and coins) simply do not make sense! I feel as though a lot of the community chest cards are negative this go around whereas the original monopoly community chest was supposed to be considered good 95% of the time. Why do I pay $50 for winning "Most popular plumber"??? On a positive note, the pewter game pieces were fairly good choices and fun to see - Mario's hat, Link's boots, Link's shield, Nintendo controller, Koopa shell, Donkey Kong barrell. Fundamentally the same ol' monopoly but could have satisfied Nintendo fanboys a bit better.
