She loves to work on projects together, so this seemed promising, and turned out to be a huge hit. We started in the dining room, but we soon had to move it outside after splattering rock everywhere. She was nuts about it. There's lots of pounding with a little hammer and/or pick until you start to unearth bones, then brush away the bits of rock, hammer more and uncover more bones, etc. She kept running into the house to tell Mommy to come out and see our progress, and she was so excited as we pulled out one bone after another. After that there is the fun of snapping them together to make a pretty cool skeleton, and then painting. Definitely one of the best toys we've come across. I would guess that few four-year-olds would be able to do this alone (it's officially targed at age six and older), but it's great project for working on together.
