There is a button that you hold down to turn on the propeller, the spotlight that is on the front of the helicopter and the helicopter sounds. Our son "flys" this around the house, but he seems to have the most fun with the winch. Note that the winch is not motorized. The winch goes up and down and there is a big hook at the end of about 14 inches of string that our son uses to rescue his other toys. We lost the little rescue basket that came with the helicopter a long time ago, but he still uses the winch to rescue toy trains, trucks, cars, etc. The doors on the helicopter open so he can put someone in the pilots seat or into the back.
