I would love to have a robotic creature that could carry on conversations and was fun and futuristic and was less than $50 bucks. This ain't it. BUT if you had the original Furby, this one is better. I worked on a trading floor and we abused two Furbys for about a week until they got too annoying to deal with -- the new generation Furby is better because you can pretend like you're having a conversation. You say, "Hey Furby" and it responds and then you say something like "sing a song" or "tell me a joke" --- and, I swear to God, the first time I said, "Sing a Song" it said "No" ... pretty funny. Anyway, the best thing about the Furby is it has an OFF switch - so in case it starts going crazy you can shut the thing off. It's a good conversation piece if you're an adult - I don't know any kids, but I'd expect it would keep them entertained for a while. It has some rather elaborate game to play involving Red Light/Green Light and tickling. I didn't pay attention to the rules and Furby scolded me so I suggested Furby go to sleep - and it did.
